Hunger for Revival
Is Revival the desire of your heart? Are you concerned about the state of both church and society at this time? Do you long to see God bless our churches, communities, country and continent? The Reformation Society was launched in 2005 to lay solid foundations for Biblical Reformation and Spiritual Revival. We have several important Coalition on Revival events coming up soon.

Prayer is Not a Substitute for Biblical Action
All too often we come across the attitude of “All we can do is pray!” However, prayer is meant to be a foundation for obedient action, not an excuse for disobedience and inactivity. “All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing.” We are commanded to
“be doers of the Word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”
James 1:22.
“Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.”
James 4:17

The Crisis that Confronts Us
In one week South Africa heads to the polls for national elections. It is a volatile and violent time with daily strikes, riots, vandalism, burning of trains, buses, police stations, destruction of property, wild fires and attacks on farmers. What is at stake? Where do the different parties stand on the issues confronting us? Where is South Africa headed? How reliable are the elections in South Africa? How independent is the IEC (Independent Electoral Commission)? What are the dangers ahead? What opportunities are there for Christian work and witness in this volatile and violent time? Is there hope for the future? How best can we pray? What can we practically do to work for Reformation and Revival in the strategic missionary-sending country of South Africa?
“So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it…”

Churches Under Attack
The Bombing of churches in Egypt and Sri Lanka, vandalism and arson attacks in France, including the iconic Notre Dame cathedral in Paris and a spate of arson attacks against churches in South Africa need to be examined, exposed and evaluated. How are we as Christians to respond? What can we practically do to prepare and to protect our churches and mission bases from malicious attack?
“… on this rock I will build My Church and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.”

Understanding the Crisis in Sudan Today
Tonight John and I will be discussing the turmoil, protests, violent crackdowns on dissent and military coup which has apparently removed dictator Omar al-Bashir from power. This officially ends 30 years of Omar al-Bashir’s dictatorship, the longest in recent Sudan history. There have been six Coup d'état/revolutions/violent changes of government in Sudan since the British left their protectorate at the end of 1955. Omar al-Bashir is the subject of international arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC). He is wanted for trial on war crimes and genocide committed in Darfur, Blue Nile and South Kordofan/the Nuba Mountains. Most importantly, how can we best pray and what can we practically do to help Christians under siege in Islamic Sudan?
“…Cush will submit herself to God.”

Lessons from the Rwandan Holocaust – 25 Year Later
Tonight We will be exploring: What happened? Why it happened? Who was targeted? Who were accessories to the mass-murder? And What lessons we can learn from the tragic events of April/May 1994 that are relevant for us today?
“…Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord? Therefore the wrath of the Lord is upon you.”

The Gospel in Africa
Tonight Hunter Combs and I will consider some threats to the Gospel which we have encountered in the field, including some common misconceptions of Faith and Repentance. We will discuss some root causes in these distortions of the truth and offer some Scriptural solutions.

Mozambique, Nigeria and Sudan
Tonight we will be discussing the devastating cyclone Idai which has killed hundreds of people in Mozambique and Zimbabwe, causing catastrophic damage in and around Beira in Southern/Central Mozambique. We will also be reporting back on the ongoing persecution of Christians in Northern Nigeria and major missionary projects planned for Sudan.
“…‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’”

South Africa – A Country in Crisis
Tonight Emma will be interviewing me concerning the myriad of crises which are confronting South Africa at this time. As I have just returned from a Mission driving across South Africa, I was able to learn first-hand from school principals, teachers, pastors, missionaries, farmers, police and politicians, some of the disturbing and bewildering array of threats which many South Africans have to deal with on a daily basis. There are important developments we need to know about and some inspiring examples of resilience and resistance of many brave and bold Christian witnesses working in difficult and dangerous situations, shining the light of Christ, evangelising in their communities and making a positive difference.
“…what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God?”

Responding to the Homosexual Crisis in South Africa
Recently the high court in Gauteng overruled a Dutch Reformed synod decision to ban homosexual marriage and openly homosexual ministers in the church. Should the government do this? How do we respond? What does the Bible say about sodomy?
“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the Kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.” 1 Corinthians 6:9-11
