Education Has Become a Battleground
Anyone who believes that education can be neutral is mistaken. Ideas have consequences. Actions flow from thought patterns. All education is religious. Parents must choose which religion will be taught to their children. Will it be secular humanism, mystic humanism, Marxism, Islam or Christianity? All education is inherently religious, because it presents a certain perspective and selection of history, values and practices and it prescribes a worldview.
“See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.”
Colossians 2:8.

Reformation or Revolution
Last Sunday marked the 230th anniversary of the launch of the French Revolution. Many in France celebrated it as Bastille Day. This coming Thursday, 18 July, many will be celebrating Mandela Day, which has been declared an international event by the United Nations. How should we as Christians respond to these idolatrous attempts to create a secular religion? The most condemned sin in Scripture is idolatry. The middle verse of the Bible is:
“It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.”
Psalm 118:8.

The Potential Power of a Bible Study and Prayer Fellowship
40 years ago, I stood up in a Chaplain’s service in the South African Infantry and asked if there was anyone else who would like to join me for a daily Bible Study and Prayer Fellowship. At that time, I could not have known all that that would lead to. One of the most important and strategic things any of us can do, is to be a committed member of a Bible Study and Prayer Fellowship, or to start one in our home, school, college, work place, or community. What can be more important, than to study the Word of God, to discuss with other Bible-believing Christians how we can best apply these truths to our daily lives and to pour out our hearts and souls in prayer on the basis of these Bible studies.
“For the Word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit and of joints and marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
Hebrews 4:12

“Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?”

Tuesday Jun 25, 2019
Tuesday Jun 25, 2019
There is so much that we can learn from the Persecuted Church. Yes, they need our prayers and support. We are commanded:
“Remember the prisoners as if chained with them…”
Hebrews 13:3
and
“in as much as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.”
Matthew 25:40.
But, we also need to remember these precious brothers and sisters in Christ, who have gone through the fires of tribulation, have much to teach us. What are some of the lessons we can learn from Christians who have endured years of persecution?
“And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honoured, all the members rejoice with it. Now you are the body of Christ and members individually.”
1 Corinthians 12:26-27

Dramatic Developments in Sudan
After 30 years of brutal dictatorship, former “president,” Omar Al Bashir, appeared for the first time in public on Sunday, escorted from maximum-security prison in Khartoum to the prosecutor’s office, where he was read charges for “possessing foreign currency and acquiring suspicious and illicit wealth.” Protestors greeted the looming court case with skepticism as corruption is the least of dictator Al Bashir’s crimes. Protestors continued to demand that he be handed over to the International Criminal Court (ICC) where he is wanted on crimes of genocide. We will attempt to shed some light on the confusing reports coming out of Sudan and present updates on what God is doing in this restricted access area in the 10/40 window in the Muslim Middle East.
“…Cush will submit herself to God.”

The Influence of Eschatology on Missions
The 19th century was the greatest century for missionary advance. The 20th century was the worst century of persecution. The role of Eschatology in Missions is foundational. The Father of Modern Missions, William Carey and the best friend Africa ever had, Dr. David Livingstone; indeed most of the missionaries of the 19th century were inspired by an eschatology of victory, The Puritan Hope, the conviction that God who gave the Great Commission would enable it to be fulfilled. This inspired the missionary pioneers of the 1800’s to endure incredible hardships and make sacrifices that transformed the world. The great missionary hymns – From Greenland’s Icy Mountains and Jesus Shall Reign, testify to the optimistic eschatology of victory which inspired the 19th century missionary pioneers to:
“Expect great things from God! Attempt great things for God!”

Faith Missions on the Front Line
In 1865, Hudson Taylor launched the China Inland Mission, the first Interdenominational Faith Mission. Since then, many missions have followed Hudson Taylor’s principles for a Faith Mission: that there would be no fund raising, missionaries would receive no salaries, but trust in the Lord to supply their needs and no debts would be incurred.
“God's work, done God's way, will not lack God's supply.” “God's servant is God's responsibility.”
“The battle is the Lord’s and He will conquer. We may fail, do fail continually, but He never fails.”

Turning the Tide - EU Elections and Brexit
There is much to report back on, the Back to the Bible for Reformation and Revival Conference in Cape Town, the dramatic re-alignment of political forces in the European Union Elections, the growing rise of resistance to the globalist New World Order agenda and the rising tide of movements for de-centralisation, secession and independence. The stunning success of the newly formed Brexit party in Great Britain which won more votes than any other party in the UK. The clear rejection of politics-as-usual and the establishment. What are some of the lessons we can learn from these momentous developments? How should we as Christians respond? How best can we continue to work for Reformation and pray for Revival? What can we practically do to make disciples of all nations, teaching obedience to all things that the Lord has commanded?
“Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.”
Galatians 5:1

In the 10/40 Window
By God's grace, four Frontline Missionaries have safely returned from a massive Bible and school-textbook distribution mission behind enemy lines, in the Nuba Mountains of Sudan. Emma will be interviewing Frontline missionaries, John and Abrie, on what they experienced and learned during this month of ministry in one of the most desperately needy and remote areas in the 10/40 Window.
“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who proclaims peace, who brings glad tidings of good things, who proclaims Salvation…”
Isaiah 52:7
