It was not raining when Noah built the Ark. How prepared are you for crisis situations? We should not fear the future. We must fear God alone. Yet we are warned in the Bible to plan for the future and to prepare ourselves for adversity. If we are to survive the storms and floods of life, then our lives need to be firmly rooted in obedience to the Word of God. Are you building your life upon the Rock, or shifting sands?

“For man also does not know his time: like fish taken in a cruel net, like birds caught in a snare, so the sons of men are snared in an evil time, when it falls suddenly upon them.”

From the Frontline: Confronting Catastrophic Criminality and Communist Chaos

Crisis reveals character. While the explosion of devastating riots, rampant looting of shopping centres and malicious damage of property exposed the failure of government there is also the inspiring untold story of heroic individuals who banded together, to protect lives and property and restore law and order to communities that were threatened with devastating lawlessness. What led to the worst riots and greatest devastation to the South African economy in history? What can be done to prevent such chaotic criminality from reoccurring? What can we learn from those heroic citizens who rose to the occasion to protect lives and property and restore order where government agencies had so spectacularly failed?

From the Frontline: Celebrating 10 Years of South Sudan’s Independence

This Friday, 9 July, marks a monumental answer to prayer as South Sudanese celebrate the 10^th anniversary of their successful struggle for self-determination and secession from the Arab North. It was a major victory against the oppressive Sharia Law of the National Islamic Front government of Sudan. 9 July, in South Sudan, marks a date with destiny. It celebrates the culminative result of many years of intensive prayer, worldwide publicity, international pressure and missionary partnership with courageous persecuted Christians in South Sudan and the Nuba Mountains. The longest war, in the largest country, was concluded with an independent and free South Sudan which separated approximately one third of Sudan’s land surface into a new and independent state on 9 July 2011. How did this come about? What can we learn from how South Sudan became the 55^th country in Africa and the 196^th country in the world, the newest country to be internationally recognized?

With the death of Kenneth Kaunda, first president of Zambia, many are seeking to evaluate his legacy. Frontline Fellowship has had a long-standing relationship with Zambia. What kind of person was Kenneth Kaunda? What was his family background? What led him to enter politics? What kind of leader was he? What was Zambia like under the 26 years of one-party rule under Kaunda? What brought about the overthrow of Kaunda in 1991? What changes have we seen in Zambia since the Kaunda era? How can we best pray for the people of Zambia at this time?

There are bills being prepared for parliament that can seriously restrict the right of self-defence and undermine the ability of citizens to have access to weapons for the protection of themselves and their family members. Is it Biblical for Christians to arm themselves for self-defence? What does the Bible teach concerning crime and punishment? Is it Biblical to have a weapon for self-defence? What do the case Laws in Scripture teach concerning scenarios where deadly force can be used? What can we learn from history? How did the early missionaries deal with these issues? Do firearms increase incidents of violence, or do they actually decrease them?

From the Frontline: Reaching the Lost of Restricted Access Areas

Sixty-seven countries of the world severely restrict and persecute Christians. Over 400 million Christians live under governments which severely restrict their religious freedom and persecute believers. Many of the countries in the 10-40 window are restricted access areas where missions are effectively illegal. How can we effectively fulfil the great commission in a time of increasing travel restrictions where governments forbid evangelism, or ban Bibles? What technologies are available to us to help reach people in closed countries and restricted access areas?

From the Frontline: Can the Great Commission be Fulfilled in our Generation?

How well do you know your world? Did you know that there are over 12,000 Ethno-linguistic people groups in the world? That, of the 195 countries in the world, there are 66 countries which restrict religious freedom and persecute Christians? Do you know that over 400 Million Christians live under governments which persecute believers? Over 20% of the world’s population are Muslims and 13% of the world’s population is Hindu.

“…The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”
